Dragon's Breath ASB

I am reading the same book as I did in my last blog. As you can see I have new wonderings and connections. The book is called Dragon's breath by E.D. Baker. So far Emma and Eadric are helping Grassina find her boyfriend Haywood how is a otter right now. Emma and Eadric are are looking for the ingredients for the potion to turn Haywood back to a human. They need to get : the hair of mother of Pearl , breath of the dragon green, a feather of an aged horse and the husk of a magic bean. Emma and Eadric already got the hair of mother of Pearl now they are trying to get magic beans at magic marketplace. They found out that the beans are out of season. I wonder how they are going to find the magic beans now? What do you think they are going to do?

I think that E.D. Baker is making you feel that you are in the book as if you are trying to find the magic beans. In chapter 15, page 163, says:
A white haired old woman look up as we drew near.
What do you think E.D. Baker did to make the reader so interested?
One connection I made while reading this book is that I have, when I was younger, me and my best friend Kailyn would pretend that we are go through adventures. So many memories come back to me.

As I thought about this paragraph, I read a little more of the book. The white hair old woman said she had no magic bean and it was out of season , when she heard something she wanted, she really  had old shriveled up magic bean. Emma and Eadric have also got the feather of an age horse. Now the only thing they need is the green dragon’s breath.  I haven't read that part yet. I wonder how they are going to find a green dragon? Emma and Eadric  went to see the dragon king but he say that green dragon don’t exist. What do you think?

I also think that this book show bravery and courage because Emma and Eadric are try to find a way to help Grassina and face so many things like the time they almost got their heads cut off or a enormous spider that try to eat them. I wonder what will happen next? What do you think??

treasure island

I’m reading a new book called Treasure Island. It’s a book about a boy called Jim, whose dad ran a pub. One of their guests was a pirate named Bill. Every month Bill paid Jim a silver coin for him to keep lookout for a pirate with one leg. One day, a blind pirate called Pew delivered a letter to Bill which caused him to die.

After Bill’s death Jim looked in his treasure chest, and found some coins which he owed for his rent. He also discovered a treasure map which he showed to the squire and the doctor. The squire and the doctor were excited the squire bought a ship to sail and find the treasure. Many strange things began to happen on the voyage.

Amos Lee's Beginning

In the book I was reading at school was a book called The Diary of Amos Lee this book is funny and interesting. The book is about a boy named Amos Lee who is writing a diary in his bathroom. This started by his mom because he spends a lot of time in the bathroom and his mom wanted him to do something in that time so she made him write. And that’s how the diary of Amos Lee began.

I wonder what crazy thing Amos Lee is going to do next? I like this book because it has that kick that makes you want to keep reading. This book is funny because he’s writing this in his bathroom and when he misspells a word when his mom reads over it she corrects it and yells at him after she’s done reading. I think that when he is done with his diary he finishes it off with a big surprise. I would like this because it will just have the reader want another book of The Diary of Amos Lee. They may even read more of this authors books.

Have you ever read a book where you just want another book of it?

If you read wimpy kid and you liked it then I bet you would like The Diary of Amos Lee.

The Serpent's Shadow (ASB)

Recently I started reading the book The Serpent’s Shadow by one of my favorite authors Rick Riordan . This book is about how Apophis (The giant snake of Chaos) is threatening that he will plunge the world in eternal darkness. So Carter and Sadie try to do something no magician has ever done - defeat Apophis. There is only one hope to defeat him it is to find an ancient spell. Will they find it or get killed?

It was easy to get sucked up into this book because the author builds lots of suspense. An example would be when the author writes that they have to go on a hunt to find an ancient spell.
The thing that made it suspenseful was if they were going to find it or not.

The author also creates lots detail. For example: “In the middle of the chamber, on a coffin shaped pedestal, stood a life-sized statue of the Apis Bull. It was made of dark stone - basalt, maybe - but painted so skillfully it looked alive. Its eyes seemed to follow me. Its hide glistened black except for a small white diamond on the front of its chest, and over its back was a gold blanket cut and embroidered to resemble hawk’s wings. Between its horns sat a frisbee of gold - a sun disc crown. Beneath that, sticking out of the bull’s forehead like a curly unicorn horn, was a rearing cobra”. When I read that I got a picture in my mind.

This is a powerful story which made me think about courage and overcoming challenges. When have you ever shown courage or have overcome challenges? Maybe you have read other books which have a similar theme. If so I would like to hear about them.

Ruby Redfort - Look into My Eyes - ASB

Ruby Redfort - Look into My Eyes

This book is by Lauren Child.  An author who wrote a series about a girl named Ruby Redfort. In this book Ruby is given a secret coded message telling her the right place at the right time. Ruby was almost best kid code-breaker ever in Twinford. Ruby finds out that she has been accepted at a secret agency called Spectrum.

When I started reading this book I thought it was going to be really boring because the start of the book was just the intro which is normal but it lasted really long and I thought there would no action at all. But then suddenly, when I was just about to abandon the book action, fun, and mystery came barreling in. That was one of the great things I thought Lauren Child did really well at. One of the things that I thought she should tweak a little was the length of the Intro. It was way too long and if it hadn’t been for my sister who was pushing me to keep on reading and wait, I would have abandon the book much earlier. But now I’m already have way through the last book of the series which is called Ruby Redfort - Feel the Fear.

This book is really interesting and I would recommend for anyone to read this book and the rest of the books in the series. This book is great except for the part I talked about in the paragraph above. If you have read any books that talk about secret agencies or have bursting action please tell me about the book by commenting on this post.

World of Norm

Recently I was reading a book called life of norm and I find the book very funny it also has funny pictures. I like this book because it really makes me want to read on although I did think that the author could have used chapter titles so that would make the reader want to read on more.

I like how the illustrator chose these pictures for this book, and that the pictures suit what is going on in the story. This book is for readers who have a really annoying brother or brothers.

This book has been a very interesting for me and I hope I keep finding books like this while I am book browsing.

I can relate to this book because even I have a little brother that always annoy’s me even when we are having dinner! For example the time when he would keep interrupting when I was trying to say something to my mom.

If you like realistic fiction I recommend that you should read this book and tell me if you liked the story?

Arjun (ASB)

Recently I read a book called Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief. In this book Zeus, the god of the sky thinks that Percy stole his master lightning bolt. He also blamed Poseidon, the god of water because he is Percy’s son. His mother also died at the beginning. Hades, the brother of Zeus was trapped in a mansion. He trapped a girl and forced her to marry him. Percy also visits Hades in the book. He kills Hades also.
This image was taken by Pinterest.com.

I think that his father loved Percy so much. For example, he built a whole cabin on a lake with some of his weapons. Another example is that he really wanted to meet him because his brother, Zeus had banned all gods from making physical contact with their children. So this means that Percy’s father, Poseidon loved Percy.

I also think that his mother also loved him. For example, she sacrificed her life for Percy. Another example is that she let him drink a ton of coke and he got a monstrous soda burp. That burp was about 10 seconds long in my opinion. So this means that not only Percy’s father loves him, but his mom also loves him.

I think that Zeus thought that Percy stole his lightning master bolt. For example, Zeus and Poseidon have a link between them. Another example is that he is jealous that P.’s son is still alive and Z.’s daughter is a tree that guards the camp that Percy lives in. So this means that Zeus thinks that Percy stole Zeus's lightning master bolt.

Actually, Luke hid Zeus's lightning master bolt. In the end, he actually hid the master bolt in his shield which he made Percy take with him.

Do you think that someone has stolen something from you even though they didn’t?

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone: Kerala: ASB

I recently read Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. The Dursleys and their son Dudley take in Harry Potter, after his parents were killed by Lord Voldemort. And the treat him as they would a prisoner. They make him sleep in a cupboard. That is, until Petunia Dursley receives a mysterious letter. They move him to Dudley’s old bedroom. But these things cannot be hidden for long! Soon, an enormous man named Hagrid informs him that he will be attending Hogwarts School for witches and wizards!

I think that this story is a mix of many emotions. Happy, sad, and even frightened. Snape, the potions teacher at Hogwarts, despises Harry. Why does Snape hate him so much? My favourite character in the book is Hermione Granger. She is quick and resourceful.

I wonder what the philosophers stone is? What does it do? Will someone steal it? I think that Harry, Hermione, and Ron (Harry’s best friend), will have to do something connected to the philosopher's stone. What will it be? Do you have any predictions?

Diary of a wimpy kid ASB week 4

I recently read a book called Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Old School. In this book Greg goes to Hardscrabble Farms. He was staying there for a week and he had to be his enemy's bunk mate, Nothing more than Mr. Jefferson. Will he survive or die?
This image was taken by Kidzcoolit.com.

In the first few chapters, he does not want to go to Hardscrabble farms. His mom really wants him to go on any school field trip. I think that he does not want to go for any school trips. For example, he did not sign the permission slip. This means that he does not to go for any school trips.

In the middle, he needs to get out of the house because he broke the bumper of his dad’s car. He made a last minute- decision that he was going to go. He forgot to chose his bunkmate so he had to go in the cabin with the leftovers. I think he chose that he would be with Rowley in the leftovers group. For example, he chose to be with Rowley because nobody wanted to be with him. So this means that he wanted to be with Rowley.

Unfortunately, he had to be Rowley’s dad’s bunkmate. He and R.’s dad had a bad connection. For example, he and rowley made up a secret code that R.’s dad could understand. So this means that he has a bad connection between him and R.’s dad.

Do you have a bad connection with someone?

Percy Jackson and the Titans Curse (ASB) week 4

Recently I read the book called Percy Jackson and the Titan's Curse by Rick Riordan .In this story Percy finds two new demigod with the help of Grover his best friend and try to stop kronos from rising and the world from ending.
imgres.jpg

It was easy to get absorbed into the book as  it is filled with excitement and adventure.I spent some of my time  thinking what I would do in Percy’s place.Probably I would not make it because I won't have enough courage and the story would end up totally different.

Rick Riordan’s writing makes you feel like you were there because it was so descriptive and gives you the write image and on page 269 shows you an proof  :
Every muscle in my body turned to fire.my bones felt like they were melting. I wanted to scream, but I didn't have the strength to open my mouth .I began to sink, lower and lower into the ground, the sky’s  weight crushing me.

When I finished reading the chapter I felt like I were holding the sky myself.

This is a wonderful story with loads of adventure and it made me think about courage and overcoming challenges.Have you ever had to show courage in a hard situation.Or you have read some books of Rick Riordan or this book or a book with a similar theme I’d really like to  hear about it and see what connections we can make.

toad rage

I'm reading a book called toad rage and I am about halfway through. It's a book about a toad called Limpy. He got his name from when he was little his leg got ran over by a car and now when he tries to hop he just goes around in circles. I think you should read this book because it’s a funny book about a cane toad called limpy.

A Fairy Tale Come Alive: Kerala: A.S.B

Image result for the wishing spellI recently read, The Land of Stories: Book #1: The Wishing Spell, Written by Chris Colfer. It is about two siblings, Alex and Conner, who get lost in a fairy tale land with Cinderella, Red Riding Hood, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, and Ariel. The twins go hunting for items to make the wishing spell; it will grant them one wish to help them get home. Here is one of the items (they all come in riddle form). Can you guess it? The glass that held a lonely soul, lost at midnight’s final toll. h Photo by: Pics 4 Learning

I liked this book because regular fairy tale books leave me wondering, “What happens next?” This book gives me all the answers, I also like this book because it is a tale of genuine friendship. My favourite part is when they FALL THROUGH THE BOOK THE MAGIC STORY BOOK! Crazy, right?

Meanwhile, the Evil Queen from Snow White, Is searching for the wishing spell items too. On the journey through the fairy tale land, they discover a family secret. I think that this book mood is a mix of happy, sad, and HILARIOUS! I would highly recommend the book to anyone who likes adventures. Do you think you have the answer to the riddle? If so, please leave a comment.
I just finished the Tinkle from February and it had a lot of interesting comics in it. Wait a minute many people Who are reading this do not know what Tinkle is I will tell you what it is.  It is a magazine what has many comics in it and quizzes it also Has many connections with me for example In the Tinkle magazine Made on Feb it had a comic that had a band and the band was a bad band in a fancy restaurant and it was a really good bad in a big big bar should I tell you why it was a good band in the big big bar and a bad band in the fancy restaurant.  It is because it is a rock and roll band that means that it plays really heavy music and loud music.

When I finished the story I felt like that would be my future because I have a band too and we play rock and roll music too.  I am the drummer and the main character was the drummer So the story goes like this.  The band was playing in a restaurant and the manager of the restaurant was angry because the band was playing really loud music and heavy music so the manager told the band to play softy music so the band did but guess what the soft music was a drum solo and that solo was really loud so the band ended up outside.

When the band got invited to a big big bar they still played loud and heavy music and the manager from the bar liked that music and gave them some extra money. So the manager from the bar invited them for a concert in Delhi the main city of India well then they went there and practiced at a room what the mangier has given them. On the day the concert has on the drummer went to his grandpa and his grandma. In the time the drummer was doing that the 2 guitar players where in a small bar drinking some drinks. Then trailering trailering the phone from the drummer went but he would not go on it and the 2 guitar players found that a little bit weird and I found that weird too. I guess you find that weird too but guess what the guitar players called again and again till one time he answered. But it was not the drum player it was a girl and she said that he is in the right spot and enjoying himself. The girl put down the phone the 2 guitar players put down the address what was on the phone and broom broom the car went and they drove of.

They drove with there band van to the address and put down a radio what made a siren sound beedo beedo it went and the girl screamed oh oh the cops the she said get out and give me the cops in pieces all the 8 boys went out and they only soe a radio and then they all cried it is a distraction they ran in and the girl was not there. It was a really good story have you ever red a Tinkle magazine?

Dragon’s Breath

Recently I am reading a book call Dragon’s Breath by E.D. Baker. In this story it talks about magic or other spells and sometimes talking animal. You never know what happen next. So far it says nothing about a  dragon or their breath. A girl name Emma wants to learn magic but, her mom is not allowing her to. Grassina, Emma’s auntie need to get find out the memories of Emma’s grandmother and other witches. I can’t wait to find out what happen next! What do you think will happen next? Dun dun dun!

I think that this book is for people that likes magic or adventures. For example, on page 74, chapter seven, there is a spell that says: No word, no gesture shall you make! Silence for your life’s sake! I think that is a good spell for the honking because I live in an area where people honk a lot. An adventure in the book is when Emma and her friendish, boy name Eadric turn to frogs and had to fight with angry crabs. I wonder what happen to Emma, Eadric, and Grassina since they are trying to find Grassina ‘s  boyfriend Haywood that is an otter right now, but is really a man is lost somewhere in the world? How will they find Haywood?
What do you think? Another thing I wonder to the author is that, how long did it take to write this book? I think 2 and a half year because E.D. Baker must be wondering where to put it and what word would go good in the book.

                                                                  Photo link

I think that  E.D. Baker wrote this book because he likes adventure and add a little magic to it to make it interesting. I think  E.D. Baker writes adventure because he has many adventure of his own and add it to his story like Ralph Fletcher. What do you think on why  E.D. Baker wrote this book?

I have not read the end of the book but it sounds very interesting and magical. I wonder what happen next? Do you think that they are going to survive? I also think that this book is about courage because that they go on so many adventures. Have you shown courage in some way?

Fig Pudding

I have recently read a book called Fig Pudding by Ralph Fletcher also it is one of those kind of books that I like to read. There is a character called Cliff who is the oldest among 9 children he has a collection of baseball cards and practically what he uses his time on and he likes to keep
his card sorted in a specific way read the book to find out. his card sorted in a specific way read the book to find out.

This one of the favourite kinds of books that I like to read so when I bookbrowse this is one of my first kind of books I start looking for.

Ralph Fletcher uses a variety of different ideas making the reader not know what is going come next in the story. He has come to our school once and given us a writing lesson in writing class it was fun we also had shared our writing with the whole class.

I also know how it feels to be the oldest getting treated differently than your brother in worse way always have to give stuff he wants he gets everything he wants and I only sometimes get what I want but I guess there is a good and bad for being the oldest in the family.

I like how Ralph Fletcher writes and I think if anyone likes to read realistic fiction books then I highly recommend this book. If you read realistic fiction books can you tell some that you read maybe a series of books. Please comment on what you thought about this post and try and to tell what realistic fiction books you read.

Week 4 Horrid Henery (ASB)

Recently I was reading a book called Horrid Henry 3 books in one. The author who wrote this book is Francesca Simon.

My favorite chapter was Horrid Henry’s Hobby. It’s about Horrid Henry Who collects Gizmos But Perfect Petter  his brother wants it too. So they have a fight over it

Their mom came and said it was Perfect Petters turn so peter got it . But Horrid Henry was horrid and did a prank he said do you know if you have the Golden Gizmos (The lasts one they needed.) you die soon.

I liked this book it had detail and a lot of action in it and it was like he was going to do something really exciting.

The Throne of Fire (ASB)

Recently I started reading the book The Throne of Fire by one of my favorite authors Rick Riordan. This book is about how Apophis ( The Egyptian god of Chaos) is trying to get out of the Duat so he can swallow the sun and Chaos can rule forever. So Carter and Sadie try to wake up Ra ( The sun god) so chaos cannot rule.

I really easily got sucked up into this book because the author Rick Riordan makes the book really suspenseful by making you think that Carter and Sadie will not be able to accomplish their mission. When I was reading the story I kept on thinking about how Carter and Sadie felt accomplishing so many obstacles and trying to save the world even though they might have gotten killed themselves.

Rick Riordan makes you get a picture in your mind. For example this part: “  His eyes were full of loneliness. I couldn’t believe he would hurt us - until he drew from his belt two very large knives with curly blades like his horns.” In my mind I could see and harmless creature who  turns into a ferocious beast.

This is a really powerful book which made me think about confidence and overcoming challenges. Have you ever been confident and been able to overcome challenges?

The Sea of Monsters (ASB)

The Sea of Monsters is another great book by Rick Riordan. Rick Riordan is an author who plays around with mythology. In this book he uses Greek mythology. The main character in this book is Persues (Percy) Jackson son of Poseidon.

Since this book was number two in the series it was almost impossible not to be really eager to read the series for the second time. Rick Riordan puts a series of really interesting chapters and has other chapters that make you feel different.  Meaning that Rick Riordan makes you have lots of different emotions. For example, one of them might be: getting really excited and wanting to read more.

Rick Riordan is an author that puts many feelings inside your head. Have you read any books that put strong emotions in your head? Let me know by commenting.

week 3: Group 3: My side of the mountan. veerashwa

Throughout the book Sam has changed in many ways. For example Sam couldn’t do lots of different things when he first came to the mountain. He didn’t know what to and how to survive in the wild. What time in the story do you think Sam changed the most and why do you think that?

I recently finished a book called MY SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN by jean Craighead George. It is about Sam who left his house to explore the wild  and to escape his crowded family. And to live up his family's name Gribley. Have you ever wanted to get out of your home and explore the forest by yourself? well Sam did and he managed to stay and survive and his life changed.

PIC Taken by Good reads.

I think Sam showed change most in the beginning to the the ending because in page 14 to 15 when Sam tries and tries to catch a fish and fails  but he never gave up.then he got 5 little trout.
this shows Sam  never gave up.I think that let Sam progress in the wild.I think Sam changed most from the beginning to the middle.on page 45 when he gets frightful he changes the most because when he gets frightful it's a huge advantage and he changes a lot this shows change.

It was easy to get absorbed into the book as it is filled with excitement and adventure and it shows how people can change.because on page 5 because I feel like I am Sam.It feels like you have survived after a snow storm.and on page 17 he did not know how to light a fire and was struggling.
My favorite chapter was the ending because when I first had the book I thought the city comes to me.  I thought Sam went back so the city but his entire family went to the forest and built an house in the forest.

This story made me  think about courage overcoming , challenges and survival skills.
Do you have any connections to the book like have you read a book with a similar theme what did you think about the ending and why do you think the author named the chapter frightful learns her ABC's  and why do you think she named the chapter trouble begins what kind of trouble Began? I wonder what you think?

Every Living Thing

Planting Things

Last week I read a book called Planting Things. I liked the story because Mr Willis made a garden and lots of animals came and lived in it. the robin came and nested in his ivy. My favourite part of the story was when ms willis got out of bed and saw the robin’s nest even though she was sick. I also like when mr Willis got ms Willis a chocolate milkshake mixed with an egg and some powdered malt every morning because it made me really hungry.

A Bad Road for Cats

Last week I read a story called A Bad Road For Cats. It was a story about a cat named Lewis. His tail got chopped off half way down because it got caught in a car door. A lady found him at a petrol station and took him home but once she lost him. She found him at a house and a little boy had found him and was trying sell him. My favourite part was when she knitted a orange and white cat with a stumpy tail and gave it to the strange little boy.

Shells

One week ago I read a book called Shells. It’s about a boy whose parents died and was being adopted by an old lady. At first it was boring but at the end the boy bought a hermit crab. The next day he came home from school he found her sitting on his bed looking at the hermit crab. She said that she wanted to get a friend for the crab. So they went down to the pet shop and they found the other hermit crabs. That was the first time both of them got happy and excited in the whole book. Instead of buying one they bought almost all of them. Once I had read Shells I felt happy because I had finished the howl book.

Week 3 Number The Stars ASB Group 5

During chapter 14 and 15, two german soldiers stopped Annemarie from taking the package to Uncle Henrick. What might the importance of this package be in the context of the story and how does the author use this incident to build suspense?

If you were Annemarie, how would you be feeling at this stage and why? Use evidence from the text to support your ideas.

I just finished this book and in the story it has a few things related to war and I find it very interesting that she has done that which I find a very good adjustment in the book.
I like the way that the author made suspense in the book which really made me feel that I kind of never knew what was going to happen next in the book and it has a lot of cliff hangers.

Well He uses this incident (the soldiers coming up to annemarie) to make the readers think that the soldiers will do something bad to Annemarie. If I were Annemarie I would feel like I had gotten myself in the biggest trouble in the world, also I would feel like this because at that time there was war going on which would make going outside unsafe, also the German soldiers were going around the country everywhere and that’s another reason what makes going outside unsafe. For example if they found me they would probably either put me in prison which would make me a prisoner or they would just  kill me. I wonder why the author wanted write this book and who inspired him as a writer?

wk3-grp3-my side of the mountain-CISS

I think in chapter 3 Sam changed the most. One reason why I think this is because in chapter 3 Sam met a person like him named Bill. When he met him Bill taught him how to make a fire and let him sleep on his rocking chair. Later he is glad that Bill taught him how to make a fire because he turns out too have a few struggles in heat. This makes me realize that some things that people teach you are important.

WK3-Grp3-My Side Of The Mountain(CISS)

I think Sam has changed the most in chapter 17 ( Trouble Begins). I think this because he was saying that he knew all the tricks in the wild and he also said "if you want to hunt a deer you can wait behind a hunter and when he kills the deer you take a short cut and you steal the deer."I also think this because Sam In chapter 17 Sam knows a lot of the animals in the wild like Frightful, he carries Frightful everywhere. And Sam also knows where everything he needs is in the wild.

WK3-GR2 every living thing

I think the main idea for planting things could be to never let something so small bother you every day of your life because his wife is very sick, also because he has no one to company him and he only has his wife. Also all he has to do is plant things. I realise that he would be very lonely and depressed and really really sad. I think this is important because when I have no one to play with I am really bored and sad cause I have no one to play with. when I was once sad I had nothing to do because i did not have any friends.

WK3- GP5-Number the stars -CISS

I think the importance of the package has something to do with helping the jewish people escape to Sweden because on page 104 Annemarie mother was acting very worried when she found out that  the package was delivered to uncle Henric.

If I was Annemarie I would be very scared because on page 114 two soldiers with big guns and big scary dogs waked up to her and could kill her any moment with their big guns and the dogs could bite her.  I would also be scared because the think they smell meat so the soldier is expecting to fined meat and meat is illegal so she would get in trouble. The last reason why I would be scared  is because soldiers are soldiers so they are tuph

WK3-GRP2- Every Living Thing-CISS

Q: What is the theme or life lesson in the story Planting Things?

A: I think the theme in the story Planting Things is that " Even though it is an animal, treat them kindly as human beings.  You can still try your best to protect them." One reason is that when Mr. Willis saw the robin, he did not destroy the nest or touch it. Another reason is that he sat there and watched it everyday. He made sure it was safe, and tried to protect it from visitors that will steal the eggs and damage the nest. This makes me realise that being kind to others could make you feel happier, and the person would be happy, too.

WK3- the tiger riseing

I think that Rob is feeling a little bit angry and a little bit sad when his dad shoots the tiger because at the time I think it was a very important thing to Rob because earlier in the book Rob had no friends then when Sistine entered the book and Rob made friends with her he had a different opinion on himself. Then when his dad killed the tiger, I think that when Robs dad killed the tiger he thought that his dad broke his friendship with Sistine. he also was feeling sad because he loved the tiger and he can't stand to see the tiger killed.

WK3-GRP5- Number the stars

If I was Annamarie, at this stage I would be feeling very scared because there was 2 german soldiers that stopped Annamarie and started digging through the basket. If I knew that this was something Peter needed, I would be scared if they took the handkerchief.

I think the author used the incident to build suspense so that they could get the reader to know more about the german soldiers and how the acted with the dogs and how they treat the people when they find them.

This makes me think that people like Uncle Hendrick are very brave to hide those people because if the soldiers found out about the fisherman hiding the people, they can get shot and die. I think that Peter was smart when he created the handkerchief that would damage the dog’s  sense of smell by a drug on the handkerchief.

WK3-Group 4-CISS How Rob feels when tiger dies

I think that Rob is sad about the tiger getting shot because he got to know the tiger better and better. For an example Rob would feed the tiger meat. Usually people that feed the animal gets to know that animal more and more. I think that is what happened to Rob, Sistine and the tiger. Another reason why Rob will be sad is because Beauchamp will be angry with Rob. Than he will shout at Rob's father too. Just imagining someone shouting at my dad because of me makes me feel sad.

WK3-Group 3-My Side Of The Mountain-(CISS) At what moment in the story do you think Sam changed the most and why do you think that?

In chapter 16 and 19, I think Sam changed the most. I think like that because in chapter 16, Sam was able to make different things with fur from animals. For instance he can make rabbit-skin winter underwear, deer fur blankets and a jacket with enormous pockets all over. In addition he can make deerskin pants and a brown sweater, which makes him look like a deer. Moreover, Frightful comes flying to Sam when he whistles. For example Sam tried to whistle to Frightful, when she disappeared somewhere. So it means that Sam was trying to whistle to Frightful, to make her come back. This proves why I think Sam changed the most in chapter 16.

In chapter 19, I think Sam changed the most just like in chapter 16. I think like this because he taught Frightful how to signal. For example, Frightful signals to Sam of good spirits. She did it by coming back to his fist, with a thump and a flip. Sam can make different kind of foods, too. For instance he can make onion soup with wild onions. Moreover he can make smoked fish, boiled with dogtooth violet bulbs and walnuts dipped in jam for dessert. In addition he can make acorn pancakes, jam and sassafras tea. He can make a pile of soaked and stewed honey locust beans, mixed with hictory nuts too. This shows why I think Sam changed the most in chapter 19.

Week 3 - Group 2 CISS Every Living Thing

In the story, Planting Things the Theme is you should care for others. Because if you do something nice to someone, they may really appreciate it or they will do something really nice back to you.

For example, every morning Mr.Willis would make breakfast for his wife every morning. And if I were to do that, in 2 weeks I would be very bored and sick of it. Rather than Mr.Willis he would make breakfast for his wife every morning.
Another example, is on a Thursday morning Mr.Willis say a Mother Robin making a nest on some Swedish Ivy. When Mr.Willis saw that he ran to his wife he tried to help his wife get up but she said that she would stay in bed for a little longer. So a little later he came back and helped her wife get up. And she did. When she saw the Robins, she said " Good job a fellow."

This makes me realise that Mr.Willis cares for others and though I should care for others. Because if you do something nice to somebody they would really appreciate it or, they would do something really nice back to you.
