Week 3 Group 2 Every living thing  A. I . S .D 

The life lesson of this story is that instead of hating life you should be happy and enjoy life. I think the reason why Ms. Willis should have enjoyed life is because she should have saw the amazing things that had happen to Mr.Willis and how amazed he was when the robin made it's nest on Mr.Willis's porch. That is why Ms. Willis should have enjoyed life.  I'm happy that Cynthia Rylant made this book .

Week 3, Group 2, Every Living Thing, AISD 

       I feel that the life lesson is like the moral. If it is then i think that the moral or the life lesson is never give up you hope or your dreams, because Mr. Willis never give up his love for planting things. The author Cynthia Rylant liked planting things so she decided to write a story about planting things. When I read the story the second time it made so much more seance then the first time. I really liked how the little birds nested on the Swedish ivy.   

Group 1,Week 3, Stone  Fox, AISD

Stone Fox thinks white people are not all bad, some are nice. Stone Fox feels proud because he helped Little Willy in the race, then Little Willy will pay the taxes. Stone Fox will care about other people, I notice his kindness.

 Stone Fox felt proud of himself because he helped a little kid. He found out that all white people are not bad, some are nice people too, because when the withe people took over his land, since then none of the withe people have heard him talking. After helping little Willy, Stone Fox thinks that some of the withe people are nice.
I think he is helping little Willy because he knows that he is taking part in the race so he can win and pay the taxes of his grandfather farm. If you want to learn more about dog sled racing.

Maybe the life lesson might be that you should enjoy your life and live your life that you have. I think that that is the life lesson because the Swedish mans wife was not very well she always used to stay on her bed.

WEEK #3 group 3 My side of the Mountain AISD

I think Sam has changed by becoming more independent because first he was thinking he is dying but he changed by surviving and having trust in himself. Having trust in himself taught Sam the basics to survive the wild. He used his schema for the basics of surviving. He also got some animals friends so he wasn't that lonely. He has changed totally in surviving in the wild by first not knowing how to make food and making fire and then knowing how to.

During chapter 14 and 15, two german soldiers stopped Annemarie from taking the package to Uncle Henrick. What might the importance of this package be in the context of the story and how does the author use this incident to build suspense?

If you were Annemarie, how would you be feeling at this stage and why? Use evidence from the text to support your ideas.

    The package is important because it has cocaine to numb the dogs sense of smell. There is rabbit blood so the dogs want to smell it. The author creates suspense by making you think that she is not going to be able to deliver the package. If I was Annemarie, I would feel intimidated by the Nazis because I saw them hit my mom and be so cruel to Ellen and the rest of the Jewish community.

Week 3 Group 4 The Tiger Rising AISD

At the end of the book, Rob finally frees the tiger from its cage. What might the importance/significance of this be in relation to the struggles he has experienced in in his own life throughout the book? When his dad sees the tiger free, he shoots it. How do you think Rob feels about this shooting and why? Provide evidence from the text to support your thoughts.

For question 1, Rob opens his "suitcase" and lets out his feelings. He opens his "suitcase" throughout the story when he was with Sistine. It makes him more sensitive and all so a better person because if you keep all your feelings inside of you I think that I couldn't stand  keeping my feelings inside of a "suitcase".  In the story Rob is telling Sistine the things that he keeps inside his “suitcase”. That is why I think Rob is opens his “suitcase” when he is with Sistine.

For question 2, I think that that Rob feels sad but happy that his dad was protecting him. When the tiger was shot Rob opened his dad's "suitcase".  His dad should have knew better than to kill a tiger but all so he protected Rob. I think when the tiger just died Rob felt like he wanted to yell because he was really mad but at the end I think Rob realized  that his father did not want Rob to get hurt. In the story Rob is hitting his dad, this show that Rob is really angry.

The importance the package is the handkerchief inside because the drugs on the handkerchief numbed the dogs noses so they could not sniff out the Jewish hiders. Lois Lowry built suspense using the soldiers to slow down Annemarie and make you think that she might not be able to deliver the package. First if I were her I would feel sacred that the Germans might take the handkerchief and because Uncle Henrick might have all ready left for Sweden. After I delivered the package i would feel relived because the most dangerous part of my mini mission was over.   

Week 3 Group 4 The Tiger Rinsing AISD 

         The change that runs through Robs life is when we lets the tiger go he opened his own suitcase, so when  the Tiger was free all of Robs feelings were free. I know that by Robs started telling his dad everything he was feeling like he wanted his mama more then he needed his dad and he kept letting everything out.

            Rob was crying when his dad shot the tiger so he started was yelling at his dad that he does not mean as much as his mother. I think that he was just really mad at his dad for killing the tiger he loved. But I think if his mama had not died, I think the family with not be living in Florida and none of this would have happened. 

Week 3-#5-Number the Stars-AISD

We read that the package held a handkerchief. The Nazis started using trained dogs to sniff-out the people, Jewish hiders, on the boats. The handkerchief had dry rabbit's blood to attract the dogs and cocaine to temporarily ruin their sense of smell. This is building suspense because no one knew what was in the package yet. I would feel paranoid because a German Nazi might be aware of a lot of things that I do because they make themselves own almost all of shops and stores.

   In my opinion Sam changed in chapter 7 when he first found Frightful because he felt less lonely and Frightful could catch food for him but Sam would still have to work very hard to train him.

Week 2 Group 4 The Tiger Rising AISD
In this part of the story, Rob is showing Sistine the tiger. Sistine wants to free the tiger but Rob thinks it is a bad idea. Rob has no idea what to do! How do you think Sistine and Rob will free the tiger if they do? What are positive  characteristics about Rob and what are negative characteristics about Rob?

Rob and Sistine will free the tiger with the key! Sistine will force him to open the cage. I think Willie May will also be with them because on chapter 25, Rob and Sistine went to the woods to show Willie May the tiger and ask if they should free the tiger.

Negative things about Rob is that he is keeping his feelings inside his suitcase. the other thing is that he told Sistine what he wasn't supposed to.

Positive things about Rob is that he is nice. He saved Sistine from the mean kids. He uses kind words.

Week 2, gruop 2, Every Living Thing AISD

I think that the author made Gabriel  feel lonely because he was in front of a building that was falling apart with no one to keep him company.        Maybe the the author was bit similar to Gabriel so that probably why she wrote the story. 

Week two, group one, Stone Fox

I read the book again and I found out why is he called Stone Fox. He is called Stone Fox because as hard as a stone. I have no idea why didn't Stone Fox talk to little Willy.     

The author tells me how Gabriel is lonely by Gabriel not having any company and I also think that the tone also wants me to feel sad and lonely.

  I think that they are not part of the Resistance because they are just delivering the coffin. The person who gave them the coffin to deliver may be part of the Resistance because he may have packed the coffin. They know what's in the coffin because in a war, lots of people die, so they might think it is another dead relative. They aren't part of the Resistance because they are just delivery guys.

Yes I think they knew what was inside the coffin because if they delivered the coffin then they might have looked inside. Also, I do not think they are part of the Resistance because you don't have to be in the Resistance to be against the Nazis, if they were a Nazi or were against the Jewish people then wouldn't they report something?

I think the men who bring the coffin with blankets and jackets were part of the Resistance because the Resistance kind of schedules which people go in which boat across to Sweden. Yes, I think they know whats in the coffin, because if they are in the Resistance they would know what was in the coffin.They know they are traveling to Sweden and know what they might need.

Week 2-#5-Number the Stars-AISD

Maybe the men are not part of the Resistance but are just against the Nazis. Henrik is not part of the Resistance ,but, he is still helping the Jewish people. Also, the men should know what's in the coffin because if they delivered it they might have also packed it with the blankets.
